ADA Policy

It is the policy of FPI Management to consider any and all requests for reasonable accommodations or modifications when they are necessary to provide a person with a disability an equal opportunity to use and enjoy their apartments home and/or the community common areas. If you have any questions on how to submit a reasonable accommodation or modification request, please contact the apartment community rental office and ask to speak with the Community Director.

California Disability Access – Senate Bill 269

As of 2009, owners of businesses open to the public can take advantage of a state law allowing the property owner to commission an assessment of their property by a California Certified Access Specialist (CASp). The CASp can provide a statement on whether the premises meet applicable federal and state accessibility standards. The owner can obtain a certificate demonstrating compliance. These inspections are entirely voluntary and the benefit of having an inspection would be that if a complaint has been made against a property for an accessibility issue, the burden is on the plaintiff to provide evidence showing they experienced difficulty as a result of a violation. The Department of California State Architect’s website has more information on who is eligible to perform inspections- https://www.dgs.ca.gov/dgs/home.aspx.

Website Accessibility

FPI strives to improve the usability and accessibility of its website and mobile application for all users, including those with disabilities. FPI efforts to improve digital usability and accessibility are guided by the relevant portions of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1, Level A and AA, and other existing recommendations.

Our efforts are ongoing and are tested on a periodic basis using various forms of assistive technology. To make our website easier to use, we regularly respond to feedback from audits conducted by a nationally recognized vendor, whose testers include individuals with disabilities who are regular users of assistive technology.
